The D. Serikbayev Academic Council functions on the basis of the “Rules of the Academic Council of D. Serikbayev East Kazakhstan Technical University”, adopted on August 25, 2021.

The competencies of the D. Serikbayev EKTU Academic Council include:

• approve and amend the University structure;
• establishment, reorganization and liquidation of training and scientific units;
• University concept definition;
• making decisions on all fundamental issues of educational, R&D and economic activities of the University;
• hearing reports of the Rector, Vice-Rectors, heads of structural units on educational, R&D, educational, financial, economic, informational and international activities, etc.

The composition of the Academic Council is elected for 3 years and consists of an odd number of members.  The current composition of the Academic Council was approved by the Rector's order № 427-P  09.10.2023.

The meetings of the Academic Council are held once every two months to the “Work plan of the D. Serikbayev EKTU Academic Council”.
