The laboratory is designed to develop practical skills in petrographic and mineralogical research. The laboratory develops the professional competence to study the material composition of rocks and ores to establish patterns of formation and determine further methods of prospecting and exploration of mineral deposits.

Goal of Laboratory: research the material composition of the rocks and ores of the East Kazakhstan deposits.

Laboratory objectives:

• To conduct practical and laboratory classes as part of the Geology and Exploration of Mineral Deposits EP;
• To conduct petrographic research;
• Study of the material composition of rocks and ores.

The laboratory is equipped with the following equipment:

• polarisation microscope;
• Altami Polar’s microscope;
• Polar’s microscope.

Objectives: Petrographic study of rocks (host rocks).

Prospective objectives: complete study of ore, including ore and host rocks + beneficiation products
