1. The selection of students for study at the military department is carried out annually by the selection committee on the basis of a contest in accordance with the enrollment plan.
Documents are accepted by the military department 10 working days before the start of the selection committee.
Students not older than 24 years of age for the year of the contest are allowed to participate.
The contest for military training course for students has four ontest rounds :
- first round - medical examination in accordance with the Rules of military-medical examination and the Regulations on the bodies of military-medical examination in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan, approved by order of the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan on July 2, 2015 № 373 (registered in the Register of State Registration of Regulatory Legal Acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan under № 11846);
- second round - professional and psychological testing;
- third round- testing of physical fitness;
- fourth round - competitive selection, carried out in accordance with the rating score, compiled and approved by the head of an organization of higher and postgraduate education.
Each stage can be taken only once.
2. The selection committee starts working no later than 10 working days after the end of the summer session, according to the academic calendar of an organization of higher and postgraduate education.
The members and timing of the selection committee is determined by the order of the First Deputy Minister of Defense - Chief of the General Staff of the RK Armed Forces.
3. The documents for the reserve officers training program are accepted from students of the first year (with 4 years of training) and the second year (with 5 years of training). Military training is completed with a training camp (professional practice) one year prior to graduation from an organization of higher and postgraduate education.
4. To participate in the contest for training at the military department a student must submit an application according to the form in Appendix 2 to the Regulations with the attachment of documents according to the list in Appendix 3 to the Regulations.
5. To take a medical examination crtificate, students get medical examination cards (hereinafter - Form 7) at the military department. Medical examination of students is carried out by the local bodies of military administration from February 1 of the year of admission. The results of the medical examination according to Form 7 shall be submitted to the military department no later than 10 working days before the selection committee starts its work.
Students who have not been tested by the medical examination commission are not allowed to participate in the contest.
6. The physical fitness of students is assessed by the results of physical fitness standards, according to Annex 4 to the Rules. Students who do not score 8 points totally for the three standards do not pass the stage of the contest.
7. Professional and psychological test is taken by students in computer classes of the University and includes defining the level of motivation, stress resistance, critical and logical thinking abilities of the students.
8. The results of the professional and psychological selection and physical fitness are written in the statement, which is signed by the members of the commission.
9. Meetings of the selection committee are held in accordance with the work plan approved by the chairman of the selection committee and are accompanied by the registration of the minutes with the one of the following decisions: "to admit to military training", "to recommend for training on a paid basis", "to refuse".
10. Decisions are made by a simple majority vote. In the case of an equality of votes, the vote of the chairman of the selection committee is decisive.
11. Students who are ranked from number one to the number corresponding to the number of assigned spots in the enrollment plan are admitted to the military department to study on a free basis.
12. A student who does not agree with the results of the competition, applies to the chairman of the selection committee in a written form (in any form) on the same day.
13. The decision of the selection committee on the application, completed with minutes, is made within 1 calendar day from the date the application is accepted, with Satisfy or Reject.
14. The results of the competition are posted until 17.00 the next day after the selection committee meeting at the information board of the military subdepartment.
