Erasmus+ is the EU education, training, youth and sport flagship programme whose external action dimension aims at cementing links between the European Education Area and the rest of the world, strengthening societal links through educational exchanges and mobility, capacity building and peer learning. More than 4,000 educational institutions from 33 countries participate in Erasmus+.

The name of the program comes from the name of the Dutch philosopher Erasmus of Rotterdam, who, in order to expand his horizons and gain new knowledge, lived and worked in many European cities. At the same time, the word Erasmus is an acronym, stands for European Region Action Scheme for the Mobility of University Students

The main goals of the program are to improve the quality of education in Europe, the development of mobility and cultural ties between students from European and EU neighboring countries. The program allows students and faculty to study, train or teach in another country participating in the program.

Candidates wishing to be trained under the Erasmus+ program are selected on a competitive basis.

Students must meet the following requirements:

  • be students for at least 2 years of study at EKTU;
  • have a GPA determined by the host university;
  • be fluent in the language taught at the host university.

Students do not pay tuition fees at the host university, all costs are covered by the European Union. Students also receive a monthly stipend to cover their expenses abroad.

The current competitions under the Erasmus+ program are published on the website and social networks of the university and the department of international cooperation.

Zero grant Erasmus+

“Zero-grant” Erasmus students are entitled to mobility for the purpose of studying. These are students who meet all the criteria and have all the benefits of Erasmus students, but do not receive funding (grant) from the EU for mobility. Program rules, except for those related to the provision of financial support, also apply to students with "Zero-grant".
