Goal
  • Get the basics of general professional knowledge, allowing students to form the prerequisites for training in the specialty.
Objective
  • - study of terminology, professional language of architectural design; - studying the basics of architectural design methodology; -acquisition of practical skills in learning activities (professional drawing skills, systematization and analysis of literary and Internet sources, knowledge of proportional and compositional patterns).
Learning outcome: knowledge and understanding
  • Understand the basics of professional education.
Learning outcome: applying knowledge and understanding
  • Conduct a comparative, compositional, or chronological analysis of textual and graphic material.
Learning outcome: formation of judgments
  • Understand the basics of stylistic shaping in architecture.
Learning outcome: communicative abilities
  • Apply the acquired skills in the field of professional communication.
Learning outcome: learning skills or learning abilities
  • Ability to carry out cultural and linguistic communication in the process of study using modern communication tools and technologies.
Teaching methods

When conducting training sessions, the following educational technologies are envisaged; - experimental and empirical methods of creativity; - individual independent approach to work; - exploratory-creative activity (individual practical work and study of special literature); - interactive lecture (application of the following active forms of learning: guided (guided) discussion or conversation).

Assessment of the student's knowledge

Teacher oversees various tasks related to ongoing assessment and determines students' current performance twice during each academic period. Ratings 1 and 2 are formulated based on the outcomes of this ongoing assessment. The student's learning achievements are assessed using a 100-point scale, and the final grades P1 and P2 are calculated as the average of their ongoing performance evaluations. The teacher evaluates the student's work throughout the academic period in alignment with the assignment submission schedule for the discipline. The assessment system may incorporate a mix of written and oral, group and individual formats.

Period Type of task Total
1  rating Drawing elements of architectural orders. 0-100

Practical work The work is performed in accordance with the assignment. -All tasks are performed at a high graphical level, taking into account the basics of proportional and compositional regularities; -construction of architectural orders and their elements is performed correctly, taking into account all the necessary requirements; -all tasks are completed in full, without remarks. The work is performed in accordance with the assignment. - all tasks are performed at a good graphic level, taking into account the basics of proportional and compositional regularities; - the construction of architectural orders and their elements are made with minor errors and inaccuracies; - the set tasks are performed with minor errors and remarks. The work is performed in accordance with the assignment. - all tasks are performed at a low graphical level with errors in proportional and compositional construction of elements; - construction of architectural orders and their elements is performed with significant errors and inaccuracies; - the set tasks are performed with serious remarks and not completely. The work is performed in accordance with the assignment. -All tasks are performed at a high graphical level, taking into account the basics of proportional and compositional regularities; -construction of architectural orders and their elements is performed correctly, taking into account all the necessary requirements; -all tasks are completed in full, without remarks.
Evaluation form

The student's final grade in the course is calculated on a 100 point grading scale, it includes:

  • 40% of the examination result;
  • 60% of current control result.

The final grade is calculated by the formula:

FG = 0,6 MT1+MT2 +0,4E
2

Where Midterm 1, Midterm 2are digital equivalents of the grades of Midterm 1 and 2;

E is a digital equivalent of the exam grade.

Final alphabetical grade and its equivalent in points:

The letter grading system for students' academic achievements, corresponding to the numerical equivalent on a four-point scale:
