Description: The principles of designing a small public building of a mixed structure are considered - Сommunity center. Practical skills are acquired in the compositional and functional shaping of architectural objects of social typology, and the search for an expressive figurative solution and the functional organization of space.

Goal

To master the methodology for designing objects of public typology, the methods of functional planning organization of an object (community center); to propose a concept of figurative and artistic solution, considering modern design ideology, legislative, regulatory, urban planning, aesthetic, and environmental requirements.

Objective

acquiring the skills of urban planning analysis of the situation;
the study of design methods of architectural and artistic, functional and planning aspects of the organization of a small public building;
development of the architectural design of a small public building;
mastering the principles of development of aesthetic, structural features of the organization of a small public building;
application of legal requirements, taking into account the urban planning situation and figurative and artistic solutions;
application of modern technologies and structures, taking into account their influence on the architectural and artistic image of the community center;
development of personally-oriented creative approach during the design of the building.

Assessment of the student's knowledge

Teacher oversees various tasks related to ongoing assessment and determines students' current performance twice during each academic period. Ratings 1 and 2 are formulated based on the outcomes of this ongoing assessment. The student's learning achievements are assessed using a 100-point scale, and the final grades P1 and P2 are calculated as the average of their ongoing performance evaluations. The teacher evaluates the student's work throughout the academic period in alignment with the assignment submission schedule for the discipline. The assessment system may incorporate a mix of written and oral, group and individual formats.

The topic of the assignment is covered in full. The arrangement of clause elements with a slight violation of scale and compositional integrity. The design issues of the Community center were solved comprehensively, rationally and creatively. 3. The architectural, compositional and functional planning solution was developed competently, expressively and worked out in full. The Community center project reflects the typological features of the architecture of a small public building. 4. The graphic presentation of the project is made in the same style, at a high or good architectural and artistic level.	1. The composition and topic of the course project fully corresponds to the assignment. The degree of elaboration of project elements and their agreement with the teacher is from 70 to 89%. 2. The project was carried out in accordance with regulatory requirements. Minor violations of 2-3 regulatory requirements are allowed, which can be easily eliminated with minor adjustments to the project. 3.The architectural and compositional solution of the Community center can be characterized by a more formalized approach. The Community center project does not fully reflect the typological features. 4. It is allowed to present the project graphically using different stylistic techniques that do not impede the perception of the project, at a good architectural and artistic level.	1. Evaluation form

The student's final grade in the course is calculated on a 100 point grading scale, it includes:

40% of the examination result;
60% of current control result.

The final grade is calculated by the formula:
