Description: The development and introduction of the course is dictated by the objectively urgent needs of improving the education system in the direction of humanization, interdisciplinary integration, an in-depth study of the problems of national culture in a general historical context. Formation of open consciousness among students, understanding of their own national code and national identity, spiritual modernization, competitiveness, realism and pragmatism, independent critical thinking, a cult of knowledge, mastering key worldview concepts, values ​​of tolerance, intercultural dialogue and culture in the context of Abay Kunanbayev’s philosophy and creativity .

Goal

• Deepening students' knowledge about the multifaceted personality of Abay - moral-philosophical, cultural-axiological, historical, socio-political views and the relevance of humanistic values ​​in modern society; the formation of social and personal and civic competencies in the context of future professional activities.

Objective

• systematization of knowledge about the events of the Abay era and the formation of its worldview; the development of research abilities and the formation of intellectual and creative potential among students based on the study of the heritage of Abay; creation of an ideological and spiritual basis for the consolidation of Kazakhstani society through the work of Abay “Words of edification”; disclosure of the principles that determine the unique and significant place and role of Abay in the context of world and domestic history; the education of the moral position of the individual in relation to the urgent problems of the Abay era and modern global society.

Teaching methods

Assessment of the student's knowledge

Teacher oversees various tasks related to ongoing assessment and determines students' current performance twice during each academic period. Ratings 1 and 2 are formulated based on the outcomes of this ongoing assessment. The student's learning achievements are assessed using a 100-point scale, and the final grades P1 and P2 are calculated as the average of their ongoing performance evaluations. The teacher evaluates the student's work throughout the academic period in alignment with the assignment submission schedule for the discipline. The assessment system may incorporate a mix of written and oral, group and individual formats.

The student's final grade in the course is calculated on a 100 point grading scale, it includes:

• 40% of the examination result;
• 60% of current control result.
