Description: The course allows students to penetrate into the essence of politics as a social phenomenon, to identify its structural elements, internal and external relations and relations at the micro and macro levels, to identify the main trends and patterns that operate in different political systems, and to develop objective criteria for social policy measurement .

Goal
- 1. The purpose of the course is to form systematic scientific ideas about the subject and methods of political science, the evolution of political thought, laws and trends of the political process; to help orient in political reality, to develop norms of political thinking and behavior; the student receives the necessary amount of knowledge, for creative solution of his professional problems taking into account political concepts and methods, formation of political culture.
Objective
- 1. Course objectives: - to define the place of political science in the system of knowledge about society, to reveal the specificity of its object of research, object and methods; - to study the history of origin, the most important milestones in the evolution of political thought; - to analyze the basic political teachings and concepts; to understand such fundamental institutions, phenomena and problems of modern society as power, civil society, the rule of law, politics, forms of political system, political regimes, political culture. - to form ideas about principles, categories of political science, its problems and values; - to define the factors contributing to political self-expression of the individual, humanization of politics; - to form the skills to analyze the peculiarities of the development of the political process and the political life of peoples and states

- - the main stages of the development of political knowledge in the history of civilization; - schools and scientific directions of modern political science; - political knowledge in the following sections: theoretical and methodological foundations of the science of politics, the substantive foundations of politics, political life and the political system of society.

- know: - theoretical and applied and instrumental components of political knowledge, understand their role and functions in the preparation and justification of political decisions - to be aware of the essence of power and political life, political relations and processes, political entities, political systems and political regimes in society, the processes of international political life, Political process in the Republic of Kazakhstan - the rights and freedoms of man and citizen, to be able to realize them in various spheres of life. • be able to: - to analyze processes and phenomena taking place in society; - to be tolerant, to learn to recognize the right of everyone to political and ideological choice; - to defend their political ideals and values in a reasoned manner, to participate in the formation of the political system of kazakhstan society as a voter, to understand the need to master the democratic political culture; - to have an idea of civil society and the rule of law, democratic institutions and values, to justify their vital, civil and patriotic positions taking into account the ideology of kazakhstan patriotism • own: -political terminology;

- - to operate on the basic concepts and problems of political pictures of the world, meaning of human life, forms of political knowledge and features of its manifestation in modern society, the correlation of spiritual, material and political values, their role in the political life of man, society, civilization; - to show the place of political science in the system of social - humanitarian sciences, the specifics of its object and subject, the history of formation, the most urgent problems; - to be able to distinguish theoretical, applied, value aspects of political knowledge, to apply them to justify decisions concerning both daily life and professional activity; - to analyze independantly, critically to think politically;
Learning outcome: communicative abilities
- ability to work in a group, organize the work of a small group. Communication competence that defines the knowledge of oral and written communication technologies in different languages, including programming, including communication via the Internet;

- -independantly to form the trajectory of training, to be able to work with internet materials, to develop abilities and interest in creative activity, the need for continuous self-education.
Teaching methods
The following educational technologies are provided for the training: - interactive lecture (application of the following active forms of training: guided (guided) discussion or conversation; moderation; brainstorming; motivation speech); - creation of scenarios of development of various situations on the basis of the given conditions; - information and communication (e.g. computer class) - research (independant research activities of students during training); - solving educational tasks.
Assessment of the student's knowledge
Teacher oversees various tasks related to ongoing assessment and determines students' current performance twice during each academic period. Ratings 1 and 2 are formulated based on the outcomes of this ongoing assessment. The student's learning achievements are assessed using a 100-point scale, and the final grades P1 and P2 are calculated as the average of their ongoing performance evaluations. The teacher evaluates the student's work throughout the academic period in alignment with the assignment submission schedule for the discipline. The assessment system may incorporate a mix of written and oral, group and individual formats.

The student's final grade in the course is calculated on a 100 point grading scale, it includes:
- 40% of the examination result;
- 60% of current control result.
