Description: Familiarization of students with the basics of designing city streets and roads. Consideration of the classification of city streets, frequently used street and road planning schemes. Consideration of issues related to the construction of pavement, as well as the study of issues of vertical planning of a city street and road, mastering the skills of designing a plan, longitudinal profile and transverse profiles of city streets and roads.

Goal
  • The main purpose of this course is to teach students the basics of the development of design and survey documentation of urban roads and streets, as well as acquaintance with the skills of theoretical knowledge and practical skills of this industry.
Objective
  • The study of this course makes it possible to be able to design a street and road network of an urban area, as well as to know the technical classification of urban roads and streets with consideration of the relevant technical parameters.

  • The ability to use the basic laws of natural sciences, methods of mathematical analysis and modeling, the basics of theoretical and experimental research in complex engineering activities for the purpose of designing objects and technological processes in construction, using standard packages and computer-aided design tools.

  • The ability to independently apply methods and means of cognition, training and self-control, to realize the prospects of intellectual, cultural, moral, physical and professional self-development and self-improvement, to be able to critically assess their strengths and weaknesses.
