Cycle: Profiling disciplines

Goal
  • In the process of studying this discipline, students should gain theoretical knowledge and acquire practical skills for choosing and calculating effective technological schemes for sinking vertical and horizontal capital workings, inclined spiral exits and arranging the surfaces of mines and mines.
Objective
  • The objectives of the discipline are to instill independent skills in calculating the basic parameters of the tunneling cycle, as well as the technology of construction of mining enterprises.
Learning outcome: knowledge and understanding
  • Students should know and understand - general information about the construction of mining enterprises, the stages of construction of mines and mines, about the preparatory period, the deepening of shafts at existing mines, the main technological schemes, the organization of work, special construction methods.
Learning outcome: applying knowledge and understanding
  • Read mining and geological graphics, make mine sections at any time of field development; - solve technological problems; - determine the rational direction of mining development
Learning outcome: formation of judgments
  • Design waste rock dumps and ore warehouses; Choose technological equipment complexes depending on specific mining and geological conditions;
Learning outcome: communicative abilities
  • Practical skills in solving problems in the field of mining technology and organization of construction of mining enterprises.
Learning outcome: learning skills or learning abilities
  • The ability to integrate interdisciplinary approaches: reflections not only of general categories, but also of various types of methodologies.
Teaching methods

- interactive lecture (application of the following active forms of learning: guided discussion or conversation; demonstration of slides or educational films)

Assessment of the student's knowledge

Teacher oversees various tasks related to ongoing assessment and determines students' current performance twice during each academic period. Ratings 1 and 2 are formulated based on the outcomes of this ongoing assessment. The student's learning achievements are assessed using a 100-point scale, and the final grades P1 and P2 are calculated as the average of their ongoing performance evaluations. The teacher evaluates the student's work throughout the academic period in alignment with the assignment submission schedule for the discipline. The assessment system may incorporate a mix of written and oral, group and individual formats.

Evaluation form

The student's final grade in the course is calculated on a 100 point grading scale, it includes:

  • 40% of the examination result;
  • 60% of current control result.

The final grade is calculated by the formula:

FG = 0,6 MT1+MT2 +0,4E
2

Where Midterm 1, Midterm 2are digital equivalents of the grades of Midterm 1 and 2;

E is a digital equivalent of the exam grade.
