Description: Consideration of theoretical and practical issues of evolution and trends of modern development of landscape architecture as a special type of architectural activity and creativity. The study of techniques and means of landscape architecture aimed at the formation of a sustainable, humane, environmentally safe and socially filled environment of the city, as well as suburban recreational areas.

Goal
- to familiarise students with the specifics of landscape architecture, the basics of research and experience in designing architectural and landscape objects and elements.
Objective
- development of students' ecological outlook aimed at understanding the role of the natural landscape in the spatial organisation of the living environment, including in different historical epochs;
- study of the terminological apparatus of this branch of architecture;
- Familiarisation with the peculiarities, main milestones and trends in the development of landscape architecture;
- comprehension of the basic principles and methods of designing architectural and landscape objects;
- familiarisation with the methodology of architectural and landscape analysis of the territory.
Learning outcome: knowledge and understanding
- explain and competently use professional terms and definitions in the field of landscape architecture;
- state historical stages, prerequisites of development and factors of formation of landscape architecture in different historical periods;
Learning outcome: applying knowledge and understanding
- describe and graphically reproduce the basic techniques of architectural and landscape organisation of various types of urban open spaces and green areas;

- establish the role and parameters of the main natural and anthropogenic landscape components in providing the necessary qualities of urban open spaces;

- Present information, ideas, problems and solutions in front of audiences and subject matter experts.
