Description: The course provides an overview of the main methods of scientific knowledge and stages of research activities. The student will be able to prepare for research work, implement specific methods for processing information sources, demonstrate and provide the possibility of practical application of methods in research activities, including for writing master's theses.

Goal
  • to acquaint masters with the general methodology of scientific creativity, give an idea of the organization and planning of scientific research, give basic ideas about the general laws of the development of science and skills for independent scientific work.
Objective
  • to give a general idea of the essence of research work;
  • to study the methodology of scientific research;
  • get acquainted with the general scheme of the sequence of research on the field of automation and control;
  • formation of basic skills necessary for conducting independent research in the field of automation and control;
  • master the principles of organizing research work;
  • to master the technologies of preparation and execution of a scientific and analytical review, a scientific report, theses of a report, a scientific article and a master's thesis.
Learning outcome: knowledge and understanding
  • show knowledge about the optimal structure of the organization of science, management and organization of scientific and scientific-technical activities; about innovative activities; on intellectual property rights to the results of scientific and scientific-technical activities; in the field of copyright and estimate rights; on the patent legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan; on the state system of scientific and technical information; on the basics of inventive activity and the preparation of all necessary documents;

  • apply scientific research methodology, methods for solving scientific problems, modeling methods in the field of automation and control of technical systems;
  • apply knowledge and understanding of the processes of organizing and planning scientific research on the topic of the master's thesis;

  • plan and predict the results of analytical and experimental studies;

  • demonstrate oratory and public speaking at international scientific forums, conferences and seminars;
  • explain scientific research findings and their rationale to specialists and non-specialists;

  • demonstrate skills in conducting a patent search and experience in transmitting scientific information using modern information and innovative technologies;
