Design and Operation of Turbomachines
Description: The discipline is a course aimed at studying the principles of operation and features of the design, construction, testing and operation of turbomachines such as turbines, compressors, pumps, etc. During their studies, undergraduates gain knowledge about the technical characteristics of turbomachines, methods of optimization and modeling of their operation, as well as the principles of ensuring reliability and safety in operation. The development of professional skills and competencies in this field will allow graduates to successfully work in the field of mechanical engineering, energy and other industries.

Goal
- The goal is to form a system of scientific and professional knowledge and skills among students in the field of mining mechanics, namely equipment and installations that ensure the life of the mine (mine) for the entire period of its operation.
Objective
- Formation of students' theoretical foundations in the field of design and operation of turbomachines, obtaining knowledge about the features of their design.
Learning outcome: knowledge and understanding
- Knowledge and understanding of: - theoretical foundations in the field of turbomachines; - designs of existing types of turbomachines; - determination of their performance and justification of their choice for this technological process.
Learning outcome: applying knowledge and understanding
- Understanding of designs and the principle of operation, the ability to apply knowledge of the features and procedure of calculation, selection and design of turbomachines.
Learning outcome: formation of judgments
- Formation of judgments: they are able to integrate knowledge and cope with complex issues and formulate judgments based on incomplete or limited information on the application or development of new turbomachine designs, taking into account the social and ethical responsibility associated with the use of their knowledge and judgments.
Learning outcome: communicative abilities
- Communication: they can communicate their conclusions and the knowledge and justification used for their formulation on the operation and design of turbomachines to specialists and non-specialists clearly and consistently.
Learning outcome: learning skills or learning abilities
- Training skills: be able to determine the operating modes of fan, drainage and pneumatic installations for external networks of mines (mines) associated with a specific turbomachine. Be able to select equipment and design drainage, fan and pneumatic installations of mines.
