Rechargeable batteries in electric vehicles
Description: The course studies electric vehicle batteries. It presents a classification of battery technologies, materials and components used, considers typical designs of traction lithium-ion and lithium-iron-phosphate batteries, their operating principles, and prospects for the development of battery designs. Students analyze the design of starter and traction batteries, electronic control systems for battery operation and charging, technologies for diagnostics and technical service of batteries. As a result of training, students acquire the skills and abilities to diagnose the condition of batteries and electronic control systems for operation and charging, test the performance of battery components and service auxiliary equipment.
