Topics include base selection, clamping and positioning methods, calculation of welding loads, design of fixture components, and requirements for accuracy and manufacturability. Special focus is given to automation and the use of modern CAD/CAM systems.

Goal
- The purpose of the discipline is to train specialists who are able to independently develop and optimize assembly and welding devices to improve the efficiency of production processes. The course covers the study of methods and technologies used to develop devices necessary for the assembly and welding of various products.
Objective
- Study types and classifications of assembly-welding fixtures. Learn methods for selecting datum points and fixture layouts. Understand the design of clamping and locating elements. Master calculation methods for clamping forces and deformations. Use CAD/CAM systems in fixture design. Develop skills in creating drawings and technical documentation. Prepare students for engineering projects and graduation thesis work.
