Description: This program is aimed at studying the general education discipline “Physical Culture,” which provides physical training in accordance with international education standards. The program defines the joint cooperation between the teacher and the student in the process of physical education throughout the entire course of study in the context of the requirements for the level of mastery of the discipline. Practical classes provide for the acquisition of knowledge, motor skills, and abilities, as well as the formation of students' experience in implementing physical education, health, and training programs.

Goal
  • The aim of the program is to develop students' social and personal skills and their ability to purposefully use the means and methods of physical culture that ensure the preservation and strengthening of health in preparation for professional activity; to withstand physical exertion, nervous and mental stress, and adverse factors in future work.
Objective
  • To achieve this goal, the following educational, health, and developmental tasks must be addressed: 1) Provide basic, scientifically sound knowledge about the use of physical culture and sports in developing vital physical qualities for maintaining health and optimal professional performance. 2) to form a motivational and value-based attitude towards physical culture and the need for systematic physical exercise and sports; 3) to strengthen health, harden the body, and increase its resistance to the effects of adverse factors in the workplace; 4) to foster discipline, collectivism, and comradely mutual assistance; 5) fostering mental resilience, self-confidence, determination, courage and decisiveness, initiative, persistence and perseverance, composure and self-control; 6) developing and improving basic motor skills – endurance, strength, speed, agility, flexibility; 7) ensuring the acquisition of diverse skills and abilities for the development of physical abilities, socio-cultural experience, and socio-cultural values of physical culture and sports; 8) developing communication skills, in particular the ability to use information from various sources and present it clearly in an appropriate form; 9) developing thinking skills, self-development skills, and research skills.
Learning outcome: knowledge and understanding
  • To know the basics of physical culture and a healthy lifestyle, to understand the social role of physical culture in the development of personality and its preparation for professional activity. Understand the role of physical culture in society, human development.
Learning outcome: applying knowledge and understanding
  • Apply means of physical culture, use sports and professional-applied physical training to acquire individual and collective experience of physical culture and sports activities; be able to regulate their motor activity, maintain the necessary level of physical and functional fitness during the period of study

  • The ability to justify judgments in detail, to give definitions, to provide evidence.
Learning outcome: communicative abilities
  • Integration of disciplines of the psychological and pedagogical cycle and pedagogical practice aimed at the formation of a communicative culture among students; creation of a developing educational environment, a system of psychological and pedagogical diagnostics, as well as conducting special courses, trainings, special seminars and other forms of business communication that contribute to the cognitive effectiveness of the educational process.
Learning outcome: learning skills or learning abilities
  • In the process of physical education form skills and abilities for rational possession of natural movements - in running, jumping, throwing, swimming, skiing and other applied motor actions, as well as performance of sports and technical techniques. These applied motor skills retain their great practical importance for modern human life conditions. In addition, it creates important prerequisites for apprenticeship training.
Teaching methods

The priority direction of the university is to improve the quality of education through the use of modern educational technologies in physical education classes and during training sessions. The relevance of modern technologies in physical education classes is determined by the special role of a healthy lifestyle at the present stage of development of mankind as a whole and each individual student. Coach - teacher, using modern technologies, can improve not only physical qualities, but also develop the creative potential of students. When conducting training sessions it is envisaged to use the following educational technologies: 1) health-saving technologies; 2) game technologies; 3) communicative technologies; 4) problem-modular learning technologies: 5) search and research (independent research activity of students in the learning process).

Assessment of the student's knowledge

Teacher oversees various tasks related to ongoing assessment and determines students' current performance twice during each academic period. Ratings 1 and 2 are formulated based on the outcomes of this ongoing assessment. The student's learning achievements are assessed using a 100-point scale, and the final grades P1 and P2 are calculated as the average of their ongoing performance evaluations. The teacher evaluates the student's work throughout the academic period in alignment with the assignment submission schedule for the discipline. The assessment system may incorporate a mix of written and oral, group and individual formats.

Assessment of all types of tasks is carried out according to the 100-point system. The assessment format consists of 2 blocks: 1st block - practical block, 2nd block - control norms. Differential credit consists of 70% of practical material and 30% of the results of control norms. A student passes the credit if his/her final score exceeds 50%. 100-90% attend classes. Knows the basics of physical culture and healthy lifestyle, understands the social role of physical culture in personal development and preparation for professional activity. Has good physical preparation, shows diligence in classes. Is engaged in university or city sports sections. Also knows how to independently engage in various sports, modern movement and health-improving systems. Actively participates in sports competitions and sports events. Passed control norms for excellent and good. 80-70% attend classes. Knows the basics of physical culture and healthy lifestyle, understands the social role of physical culture in personal development and preparation for professional activity. Has a good physical preparation, shows diligence in classes. Is engaged in university or city sports sections. Also can independently engage in various sports, modern movement and health-improving systems. Passed the control norms for good. 60-50% attend classes. Knows the basics of physical culture and healthy lifestyle, understands the social role of physical culture in personal development and preparation for professional activity. Has average physical training. Does not do physical training on his/her own on a regular basis. Does not attend sports sections. Passed the control norms on good and satisfactory. 100-90% attend classes. Knows the basics of physical culture and healthy lifestyle, understands the social role of physical culture in personal development and preparation for professional activity. Has good physical preparation, shows diligence in classes. Is engaged in university or city sports sections. Also knows how to independently engage in various sports, modern movement and health-improving systems. Actively participates in sports competitions and sports events. Passed control norms for excellent and good.
Evaluation form

The student's final grade in the course is calculated on a 100 point grading scale, it includes:

  • 40% of the examination result;
  • 60% of current control result.

The final grade is calculated by the formula:
