Geodetic Works in the Construction and Operation of Engineering Structures
Description: To develop students' professional competences to perform a full range of geodetic works at the stages of construction, commissioning and monitoring of technical condition of engineering structures. The discipline examines engineering and geodetic works at various stages of construction of engineering structures: the features of engineering and geodetic surveys, various types of geodetic basis at the industrial site, technology of detailed partitioning, geodetic works on installation and alignment of crane tracks, technological equipment of structures, geodetic works in the construction of bridges, tunnels and underground structures. Upon completion of the course the student is able to perform geodetic work in the construction and operation of engineering structures, to ensure the accuracy of the spatial position of structural elements, to control deformations and to draw up executive documentation.

Assessment of the student's knowledge
Teacher oversees various tasks related to ongoing assessment and determines students' current performance twice during each academic period. Ratings 1 and 2 are formulated based on the outcomes of this ongoing assessment. The student's learning achievements are assessed using a 100-point scale, and the final grades P1 and P2 are calculated as the average of their ongoing performance evaluations. The teacher evaluates the student's work throughout the academic period in alignment with the assignment submission schedule for the discipline. The assessment system may incorporate a mix of written and oral, group and individual formats.
| Period | Type of task | Total |
|---|---|---|
| 1 rating | IWS 1. Creation of a geodetic center base | 0-100 |

| Independent work of the student (IWS) | The grade "excellent" is given if the student actively works during the entire practical lesson, gives complete answers to the teacher's questions in accordance with the practical lesson plan and shows at the same time a deep mastery of the lecture material, knowledge of the relevant literature, is able to express his own attitude to this problem, shows the ability to independently and argumentatively present the material, analyze phenomena and facts, make independent generalizations and conclusions, correctly performs educational tasks, allowing no more than 1-2 arithmetic errors or descriptions. | The grade "satisfactory" is given when the student as a whole has mastered the essence of the questions on this topic, discovers knowledge of lecture material and educational literature, tries to analyze facts and events, draw conclusions and solve problems. But in the classroom, he behaves passively, responds only when called by the teacher, gives incomplete answers to questions, makes gross mistakes when covering practical material or 3-4 logical errors when solving special tasks. | The grade "excellent" is given if the student actively works during the entire practical lesson, gives complete answers to the teacher's questions in accordance with the practical lesson plan and shows at the same time a deep mastery of the lecture material, knowledge of the relevant literature, is able to express his own attitude to this problem, shows the ability to independently and argumentatively present the material, analyze phenomena and facts, make independent generalizations and conclusions, correctly performs educational tasks, allowing no more than 1-2 arithmetic errors or descriptions. |
| Control work | it is given to a student who has discovered a comprehensive, systematic and in-depth knowledge of educational and program material, the ability to freely perform tasks provided by the program, who has mastered the basic and familiar with additional literature recommended by the program; as a rule, the "excellent" grade is given to those who have mastered the relationship of the basic concepts of the discipline and their significance for the acquired profession, who have shown creative abilities in understanding, presentation and use of educational and program material. | it is presented to the student who has discovered full knowledge of the educational and program material, who successfully completes the tasks provided in the program, who has mastered the basic literature recommended in the program. As a rule, the grade "good" is given to students who have shown the systematic nature of knowledge in the discipline and are capable of independently replenishing and updating them in the course of further academic work and professional activity. | it is presented to a student who has discovered knowledge of the basic educational and program material in the amount necessary for further study and upcoming work in the profession, copes with the tasks provided for in the program, is familiar with the basic literature recommended by the program. As a rule, the grade "satisfactory" is given to students who have made errors in the answer on the test and when completing exam tasks, but who have the necessary knowledge to eliminate them under the guidance of a teacher. | it is given to a student who has discovered a comprehensive, systematic and in-depth knowledge of educational and program material, the ability to freely perform tasks provided by the program, who has mastered the basic and familiar with additional literature recommended by the program; as a rule, the "excellent" grade is given to those who have mastered the relationship of the basic concepts of the discipline and their significance for the acquired profession, who have shown creative abilities in understanding, presentation and use of educational and program material. |

Evaluation form
The student's final grade in the course is calculated on a 100 point grading scale, it includes:
- 40% of the examination result;
- 60% of current control result.
The final grade is calculated by the formula:
| FG = 0,6 | MT1+MT2 | +0,4E |
| 2 |
Where Midterm 1, Midterm 2are digital equivalents of the grades of Midterm 1 and 2;
E is a digital equivalent of the exam grade.
Final alphabetical grade and its equivalent in points:
