Description: Studying the basics of telemedicine, as well as the features of the information society and information resources. The course examines the procedure for organizing and providing medical care using telemedicine technologies, as well as the requirements for telemedicine systems. Students conduct telemedicine consultations and study medical information systems. They prepare to predict and explain how these systems function, illustrate how they work, solve problems associated with telemedicine, and experiment with new technologies.

Goal
  • The purpose of mastering the discipline: to form the skills of using modern means of information and communication technologies to exchange the necessary information for the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases and injuries and to ensure high quality and level of medical care to patients regardless of their location.

  • Tasks: - to reveal the concepts, theoretical foundations and stages of formation and development of a new direction of Internet technologies of telemedicine; - to study the main types of telemedicine services; - consider the means of transmitting telemedicine information; - to show the prospects for the development of new information technologies and their application in practical healthcare and medical education.
Learning outcome: knowledge and understanding
  • To know: - terminology, theoretical foundations and stages of formation and development of a new direction of Internet technologies of telemedicine; - legal aspects of telemedicine; - know the benefits of distance learning. have an idea: - about the market of telemedicine services, equipment; projects and support services; - about the main types of telemedicine services; - about software and hardware that provide transmission and reception of images, audio information and e-mail, diagnostic information on the profile of the disease; - about the Internet service; - about international satellite radio communication systems, digital networks; - about regional computer networks; - about the unified telemedicine information system; - about new technologies in medicine.
