Project Objective:

To improve the quality of the urban environment by offering design and management solutions based on monitoring carried out within the framework of the project using modern analytical tools, equipment, techniques and IT technologies.

The goal includes the following sub-goals:

  • development of new knowledge in the field of environmental science, cyberphysical systems and urban studies to achieve the goals in the field of research, education and internationalization;
  • improving the quality of surface waters of Ust-Kamenogorsk watercourses by reducing anthropogenic impact;
  • formation of a database on surface water quality and analysis of changes;
    improving the quality of atmospheric air in Ust-Kamenogorsk by increasing the number of tree plantations;
  • formation of a geodata database of woody and shrubby vegetation of the city;
  • ensuring the rights of citizens to reliable information about the state of the environment and green spaces;
  • development of "green" metallurgy by developing new approaches to the disposal and recycling of electronic waste to ensure the extraction and recycling of heavy non-ferrous and precious metals.

Project tasks:

The tasks of the project include points common to all areas of project implementation:

  • carrying out monitoring corresponding to the direction;
  • on the basis of the data obtained, an analysis is carried out to identify relationships, correlations between the effects of various adverse factors and the state of the environment and public health;
  • development of recommendations based on the analysis to improve the quality of the environment and create comfortable living conditions for the population in the city.
