This EKTU project is dedicated to the systematic improvement and optimization of the urban environment, taking into account landscape, geographical, climatic, environmental, and socio-economic factors. The initiative is being implemented in 2024–2026 as part of a large-scale targeted program ensuring the sustainable development of the mining and metallurgical industry in the East Kazakhstan region (BR24992854).
Objectives and Focus Areas:
- Monitoring and Analysis: Conducting comprehensive monitoring of the city's natural and man-made ecosystem and analyzing advanced international practices in the development of urbanized territories.
- Digital Modeling: Processing geodata and creating intelligent predictive models for urban environment development.
- Developing Solutions: Designing practical measures to address identified environmental disturbances, reduce public health risks, and ensure the rational use of natural resources.
Expected Outcomes:
The project aims for a significant socio-economic and scientific impact on the region. In addition to improving the environmental situation, it involves the introduction of modern IT monitoring technologies, the commercialization of innovations through specialized startups, the production of knowledge-intensive products, and the training of highly qualified professionals (including PhD graduates) tailored to the needs of East Kazakhstan's industries.
