Green Flame is a student-developed initiative at D. Serikbayev East Kazakhstan Technical University focused on producing environmentally friendly solid fuel from recycled waste materials. The briquettes are manufactured by pressing shredded wastepaper, fine sawdust from woodworking workshops, and coal dust generated during coal handling operations.
The fuel briquettes are designed for outdoor applications, including scientific field expeditions, mobile field kitchens, temporary camps, and field bath facilities. By transforming waste into a valuable energy resource, the project helps reduce landfill disposal, promotes material recovery, and demonstrates practical principles of the circular economy.
The initiative provides students with hands-on experience in sustainable engineering, resource efficiency, and green entrepreneurship. **Green Flame** demonstrates how student innovation can contribute to waste reduction, responsible resource management, and the achievement of sustainable development goals both on campus and in the wider community.
