SEC "Prostor" is located in a natural recreational area on the shore of the unique natural landmark, the Bukhtarma Reservoir. It is the largest reservoir in Kazakhstan and one of the five largest artificial reservoirs in the world by surface area, covering 5,490 km². The campus covers an area of 126,379 m².
The northern part of the Bukhtarma Reservoir is surrounded by extensive forested areas. The mountain slopes are home to a rich variety of vegetation, including wild rose, cherry, viburnum, currant, hops, blackberry, birch, aspen, poplar, Siberian pine, spruce, fir, and larch.
The campus is located in an ecologically valuable landscape characterized by clean air, abundant vegetation, and a favorable microclimate. The combination of forests, mountain terrain, and the reservoir create ideal conditions for outdoor education, scientific fieldwork, recreation, and environmental awareness activities. The surrounding natural ecosystems support high biodiversity and provide habitats for numerous species of plants and wildlife. The absence of intensive urban development and heavy traffic contributes to low noise levels and excellent environmental quality, making the campus an ideal setting for student training, research expeditions, and sustainable living practices. Pedestrian access to the shoreline and surrounding natural areas encourages outdoor activities while fostering appreciation for the region's unique natural heritage.
