Laboratory of Mineralogical Research
Objective: The laboratory was established to develop practical skills in the field of petrographic studies and mineralogy. It focuses on building professional competencies in studying the material composition of rocks and ores to identify the patterns of their formation and to determine appropriate methods for the exploration and prospecting of mineral deposits.
Tasks of the Laboratory of «Mineralogical Research»:
- To provide conditions for the development of practical skills among students and specialists in the fields of petrography and mineralogy.
- To master methods of macroscopic and microscopic analysis of rocks and ores, including determination of their mineral composition and structure.
- To study the material composition of mineral resources in order to identify patterns of their formation and distribution.
- To conduct mineralogical and petrographic studies for interpreting the genesis of mineral deposits.
- To develop skills in working with laboratory equipment (microscopes, thin sections, analytical instruments, etc.).
- To train specialists capable of conducting mineralogical studies in the exploration, evaluation, and prospecting of mineral deposits.
- To develop competencies in the analysis and interpretation of geological data.
- To participate in research activities and applied projects in the field of geology and subsoil use.
- To support the educational process with modern laboratory methods and demonstration materials.
- To improve the qualifications of students and professionals in mineralogy and petrography.
Laboratory Activities:
- Conducting laboratory classes and practical sessions in mineralogy and petrography using modern equipment.
- Performing mineralogical and petrographic studies of rocks and ores, including analysis of their material composition and structural-textural characteristics.
- Preparation and analysis of thin sections and polished sections for microscopic studies.
- Participation in research activities aimed at studying the patterns of formation of mineral deposits.
- Providing consulting and methodological support for the educational process and applied geological research.
