In support of communication platform G-Global the subdepartment of Economics and Management organized and hosted an online conference with domestic and foreign educational and business institutions on 26 April, 2013.

This communication platform was initiated by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan N.A. Nazarbayev. It aims at creating environment for interactive, open, public discussions and debates with the participation of the international expert community, sharing ideas and experiences, local and foreign experts; selecting the most relevant expert services to discuss and implement projects; improving the image and role of Kazakhstani experts in the international community.

The theme of the online-conference D.Serikbaev EKSTU is a vital issue for the economic community: "The problems of Establishing a Knowledge Economy" The conference was highly intensive. Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University (Ukraine), the company Lattelecom (Latvia), Sh.Ualikhanov Kokshetau State University, Atyrau Iinstitut of oil and gas, South Kazakhstan State Pedagogical Institute, Karaganda State Technical University, S.Amanzholov East Kazakhstan State University, and Kazakh American Free University joined the discussion.

The speakers of the Faculty of Economics and Management were Y.V.Batalov, N.V.Gusseva, N.A.Makarenko, E.A. Kolos, G.A. Levchenko, A.Ualkhanova. They fully covered the methodological approach and the essence of the concept of knowledge economy, assumptions and factors influencing its formation, especially the development of the intellectual potential of Kazakhstan and other issues. A.A.Vitrenko, a visiting scientist from the Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University, presented a relevant and interesting report which interested the participants. The invited participants expanded the range of issues; the representatives of the Kazakh-American Free University covered second level banks management in the context of economic modernization of Kazakhstan, the representatives of Sh.Ualikhanov Kokshetau State University reported about the prospects for integration within the Customs Union.

A long debate resulted in the decision on further cooperation of institutions not only on the discussed issue but also in the further development of the educational, scientific and international cooperation.
