On October 18th 2011 senior lecturer Gulzhanat Niyazkhankyzy held a debate on “Extremism in religion” among the first-year students in faculty of Economics and Management of D.Serikbayev East Kazakhstan State Technical University.The debate was also attended by deputy dean for education Erezhepova S.K. Gulzhanat Niyazkhankyzy talked about the major religious movements existing nowadays. She also explained about the negative impact of different religions to the psychology of young generation. The main themes of the discussion were the influence of the religion on human psychology and "Is hidjab the duty or the subject of imitation?"
During the debate, Temerzhanov Zhasulan, the student from 11 - 1 TDTK group expressed his opinion about Islam. The other student from group 11-BMP-1, Tleubaldinova Assel advocated against wearing hidjab in public places. All students were given opportunity to express their opinion.
Moreover, the following students were able to clearly express their point of views on these issues. Such us Bayazieva Erkezhan, Slyamhan Rauan, Medeutaeva Moldіr, Kairatkyzy Meruert, Yernazarova Ayganym, Karibaeva Umit, Orynbasarova Balnur, Omarov Sagdat, Sabazova Aishat, Kenzhehanov Ermek, Kamalhanova Marzhan, Kazbekova Laura.
In the end, Erezhepova S.K. conclude the debate about terrorism and extremism. She encouraged young generation to humanity. In general, debate was interesting and vigorous.
