The application period for participation in the Comprehensive Testing (CT), conducted online through the National Testing Center (NTC) of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, is as follows:

  • from June 1 to July 8 of the calendar year;
  • from October 28 to November 10.

Comprehensive Testing (hereinafter – CT) is conducted within the following periods:

  • from July 20 to August 10;
  • from November 19 to December 11 of the calendar year.

The acceptance of applications for participation in the competition for state educational grants for postgraduate education is carried out:

  • from August 11 to August 15;
  • from December 12 to December 20 (these dates are approximate and should be clarified with the university admissions office).

Enrollment in Master’s degree programs is conducted within the following periods:

  • from August 15 to August 28;
  • from December 26 to January 10 of the calendar year.

Admission to Master’s programs is based on the results of the Comprehensive Testing (CT).

The fee for participation in CT is 14,693 tenge.

Enrollment (State Educational Grant – Master’s Degree)

Applicants are admitted to the competition for the state educational grant for the Master’s degree based on the highest scores obtained in the Comprehensive Testing (CT), including:

  • the profile subjects of the educational program group;
  • a foreign language test;
  • a test for determining readiness for learning.

In the case of equal CT scores, priority is given in the following order:

  1. Applicants with higher scores in the profile subjects of the educational program group;
  2. Then, results of the test for determining readiness for learning are considered;
  3. Next, results of the foreign language test are taken into account;
  4. Finally, the Grade Point Average (GPA) indicated in the diploma supplement (from the previous level of education) and work experience are considered.

 

Master’s Degree Admission and Enrollment

from December 12 to December 20 (these dates are approximate and should be clarified with the university admissions office).

Enrollment in Master’s degree programs is conducted within the following periods:

  • from August 15 to August 28;
  • from December 26 to January 10 of the calendar year.

Admission to Master’s programs is based on the results of the Comprehensive Testing (CT).

Applicants who have:

  • at least five (5) years of experience in managerial positions in accordance with the registers of political and administrative civil service positions, or the registers of civil service positions in relevant sectors; or
  • at least ten (10) years of work experience relevant to the profile of the educational program of a specialized Master’s degree,

are admitted on a tuition-fee basis based on the results of an interview conducted by the admissions committees of higher education institutions (HEIs).

List of Documents Required for Admission to Master’s Programs

Applicants to Master’s degree programs must submit the following documents:

  1. An application addressed to the head of the organization (in free form);
  2. A higher education diploma (original with transcripts in three languages) + a copy;
  3. An identity document (required for identification purposes) + a copy;
  4. A digital photograph;
  5. A medical certificate (form 075-U), approved by Order No. ҚР ДСМ-175/2020;
  6. A certificate confirming proficiency in a foreign language (if available) + a copy:

    English language:

    • IELTS Academic (International English Language Testing System Academic) – minimum score of 6.0;
    • TOEFL iBT (Test of English as a Foreign Language Internet-based Test) – minimum score of 60;

    German language:

    • Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang (DSH, Level B2);
    • TestDaF (Level B2);

    French language:

    • TFI (Test de Français International) – not lower than B2 in reading and listening sections;
    • DELF (Diplôme d’Études en Langue Française) – level B2;
    • DALF (Diplôme Approfondi de Langue Française) – level B2;
    • TCF (Test de connaissance du français) – not lower than B2;
  7. A copy of the employment record book, certified by the HR department (with an official stamp);
  8. A list of scientific and methodological publications (if available).
