As part of the visit, an official meeting was held between the Ambassador and the university’s leadership, during which the prospects for bilateral academic and scientific cooperation were discussed. Particular attention was paid to the development of academic mobility of faculty members, as well as the implementation of joint educational programs and research projects with partners in France.
An important part of the program was the Ambassador’s meeting with the university’s researchers. During the event, the scientific potential of the university, its key research schools, and ongoing research projects were presented. Members of the academic staff delivered presentations on areas of mutual interest for cooperation with French scientific and educational institutions. Presentations were delivered by Aibek Akayev, Dean of the School of Architecture, Construction and Energy, who presented training programs in nuclear energy; Madi Azbergenov, leading engineer of the energy group of the Balkhash NPP project at KAES LLP, who spoke on scientific and economic cooperation in the nuclear sector; and Zhanna Aubakirova, Head of the International Research Center “Digital Social Research,” who presented research in the field of demography. The French side was represented by Marc Elie, Senior Researcher at the French National Centre for Scientific Research, who shared his experience in international scientific collaboration.
During the meeting, participants discussed opportunities for joint research projects, preparation of scientific publications, participation in international grant programs, and organization of research internships.
The visit concluded with an open meeting between the Ambassador and the university’s students. During the meeting, the Ambassador spoke about France, the French higher education system, and opportunities for study and academic mobility. Students actively participated in a Q&A session, discussing prospects for educational and cultural exchange, as well as opportunities to continue their studies in France and participate in international programs.
The visit of the Ambassador of the French Republic became a significant event for the university and confirmed the mutual interest of both sides in further developing academic and scientific cooperation.
