In D. Serikbaev EKTU, a round table was held on the topic of engineering and environmental education - the trend of today.

Representatives of Kazzinc LLP, OblShygysZhol LLP, UMP JSC, Ust-Kamenogorsk CHPP LLP, the Department of Ecology for the East Kazakhstan Region, ECO AIR LLP, the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Management of East Kazakhstan region were invited to the round table , Director of Asian Environmental Auditing Company LLP, Director of Ecoservice-S LLP, first head of the Association of Practicing Ecologists, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor of TSU and city activists.

Member of the board-vice-rector Zhadyra Konurbayeva made a welcoming speech at the meeting.

The work of the round table included two stages:

Firststage:

  • The question of the need to train environmental engineers;
  • The expediency of entering the direction of engineering environmental protection as a separate EP;
  • Organization of industrial practices at the enterprises of the region with the involvement of students in research;
  • Equipping the material and technical base of the OP "Engineering Environmental Protection", from the point of view of enterprises. Enterprise visions;
  • Participation of industries of various forms of ownership in the formation of the curriculum of the EP "Engineering Environmental Protection";
  • Participation of enterprise specialists in the educational process both on the basis of the university and the enterprise;
  • Organization of advanced training courses for the teaching staff of the EP in the direction of "Engineering environmental protection";
  • Issues on achieving carbon neutrality, organization of joint projects;
  • Radiation safety.Ensuring the radiation safety of the population, in order to protect its health from the harmful effects of ionizing radiation. Organization of joint projects with teaching staff and undergraduates of the current EP "Life Safety and Environmental Protection";
  • Employment of graduates of the EP "Engineering Environmental Protection".

Second phase:

  • Consideration of the possibility of participation in projects: discussion of platforms for implementation, the possible role of the staff of the department and invited participants of the round table, the establishment of agreements, contacts on this topic.

At the end, the results of the round table were summed up and the prospects for further events were outlined.
