On April 14, 2026, as part of the Business School's Science Week, an interactive lecture for schoolchildren, "Buy Not Share: The Economy of the New Era," was held.
The speakers were Professor Evgeny Vladimirovich Varavin, Head of the Educational Program, and Eleonora Olegovna Stolyarova, Associate Professor and Chief Research Fellow at the Moscow Research Center for Digital Social Research.
During the lecture, participants learned about key trends in the modern economy, including the development of the sharing economy, digital platforms, and the "access versus ownership" service model. Changes in consumer behavior, the impact of digital technologies and artificial intelligence on the financial sector, and the transformation of the labor market were discussed. Particular attention was paid to career development in the new environment: the development of the gig economy, the formation of a "slash career," and the importance of digital reputation as an important economic asset. During the practical portion of the lecture, students participated in teamwork, developing their own sharing service models and presenting them.
Students were also provided with information about the Business and Management program offered by the Business School, key competencies, and career opportunities in economics and finance.
The event was held in an open dialogue format and enjoyed high audience engagement. Lectures such as these help develop economic thinking and increase students' interest in studying at the Business School.
