East Kazakhstan Technical University named after D. Serikbayev entered the pilot project "National Digital Career Center", which will be implemented at the site of the Astana International Financial Center (AIFC).

On November 25, 2022, the official launch ceremony of the project was held with the participation of the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sayasat Nurbek. The event was attended by: AIFC manager K. Kelimbetov, 6 Kazakhstani universities that became the first participants in the project, including the East Kazakhstan University. S. Amanzholova, Pavlodar Pedagogical University, East Kazakhstan Technical University. D. Serikbaeva, South Kazakhstan University named after. M. Auezov, Kazakh National Research Technical University named after. K. Satpaeva, Atyrau University of Oil and Gas.

The main goal of the project is to provide a systematic approach to preparing students for employment and increasing the level of employment of graduates.

The project provides for the creation of a single database of university students, centralized access for employers and government agencies, educational content for all project participants, data collection and processing, and analytics.

The implementation of the project will make it possible to determine the relevant knowledge and skills that are in demand on the market in the context of specialties, give an objective picture of the employment of young specialists in the country and professions in demand, will allow assessing the quality of ongoing educational programs of universities and increasing the efficiency of internship programs and practices.

As the manager of the AIFC Kairat Kelimbetov noted: "The concept of the Bureau was initially considered as an organization focused on addressing the internal needs of the financial center itself and its registered participants.

However, later it became obvious that those international practices, expertise and experience that the Bureau successfully localized in the jurisdiction of the AIFC can be successfully integrated and scaled outside the financial center for the benefit of the whole country."

Since the creation of the AIFC ecosystem, one of the first structural initiatives of the financial center was the formation of a separate working body - the Bureau for Continuing Professional Development (BCPD), aimed at systematically improving the quality of human capital. To date, BCPD has nine competence centers, 20 joint educational programs and initiatives have been developed and implemented, more than 1,000 university employees and students have been retrained.

It is planned that the "National Digital Career Center" will become a fully digital, universal tool to promote student employment, help strengthen career guidance programs, and also form an objective understanding of the future profession, the requirements of local and international labor markets among graduates.
