The NSTU NETI and D. Serikbayev East Kazakhstan State Technical University (EKSTU) signed agreement on realization of a dual education joint program for bachelor training. The agreement is signed for solving tasks of the "Development of the export potential of the Russian system of education".

Joint preparation of human resources for production enterprises of Northern Kazakhstan have been carried out with partner universities for 3 years. Previously, the universities trained jointly for the "Management" master's program with profile in the "Industrial Management". Starting from 2019, bachelor training starts for the first time, with profile in the "Business Management of Production Systems". The joint educational program allows students to obtain knowledge of features of the organization of production processes in enterprises of Russia and Kazakhstan, they can master management practices of doing business and conducting partner interaction between the countries.

Students from Kazakhstan will take exams of the both universities. They study at the EKSTU during the 1st, 2nd, 6th, and 7th semesters, and at the NSTU NETI during the 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 8th semesters. The lessons will be conducted in accordance with the approved lesson plans. As a result, a student will defend graduation qualification work twice, once in Kazakh at the EKSTU, and obtain a diploma from two universities.

One of the program's goals is the soft adaptation of students from Kazakhstan to the educational environment of the Russian university. «Relocation to a new country, adaptation to requirements of another educational system and environment is always a certain stress for a former school pupil. Thanks to our new program, students from Kazakhstan will be able to join our educational system, gradually, and they will not need to leave their home right away. Besides, our program is directed towards strengthening human resources of a friendly state, we are not taking students from Kazakhstan, but instead, prepare them to work at enterprises of the republic together with the EKSTU. We try to not just export the Russian education but to do it on mutually beneficial conditions with our partners,» says Marina Khayrullina, Dean of the Faculty of Business of the NSTU NETI. According to the Dean, this year, it is planned to recruit not less than 15 students to the new program, and there are already several applications from prospective students. Classes of the new program will start on 1 September 2019.

Dean of the School of Business and Entrepreneurship of the EKSTU Elvira Madiyarova notes that the network form of cooperation between the universities creates a significant impact for preparing human resources for the industries of the region and contributes to retaining graduates on the labor market of Ust-Kamenogorsk.
