In November 2025, D. Serikbayev East Kazakhstan Technical University (EKTU) will hold the official opening ceremony of the Smart Driving Technology Engineering Centre — a high-tech hub designed to develop and implement intelligent solutions in the fields of transport and engineering.

The Centre will become a core of innovative development, bringing together research laboratories, project offices, and educational spaces dedicated to training a new generation of engineers.

A key highlight of the ceremony will be the presentation of the Centre’s visual symbol — the “Sign of Innovation and Mastery”, designed for the Luban Workshop. This emblem combines engineering precision, cutting-edge technological vision, and the philosophy of sustainable development, serving as a visual representation of the Centre’s mission.

The Centre’s focus areas include advanced transport solutions such as:

  • Next-generation electric and hybrid vehicles, equipped with enhanced intelligent control systems that ensure adaptive on-road behaviour, energy efficiency, and a high level of safety;
  • Autonomous driving systems (autopilots), developed using machine vision, artificial intelligence, and digital twin technologies to enable autonomous movement in complex urban and road environments.

Smart Driving Technology is more than just a name — it is an ecosystem where innovation turns into practical solutions and engineering becomes the art of shaping the future.

EKTU remains open to joint initiatives, collaborative projects, events, and the expansion of strategic partnerships.
