EKTU is pleased to announce the upcoming Capacity Building in Circular Economy training sessions in Italy, Germany, and Spain, designed for teaching staff from Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan. These sessions are organized as part of the CBHE Erasmus+ project, "Development of Innovative Curricula and Modules in Circular Economy and Sustainable Development."

As the coordinator of the project, EKTU will be represented by the project manager and faculty members from the School of Business, School of Earth Sciences, and School of Energy and Civil Engineering. This training series aims to equip educators from Central Asian universities with the necessary expertise to integrate Circular Economy (CE) and sustainability principles into higher education curricula.

The training sessions will take place at three leading partner institutions, each hosting a four-day program:

  • University of Naples Federico II (UNINA), Naples, Italy
  • Fachhochschule des Mittelstands (FHM), Bielefeld, Germany
  • University of Santiago de Compostela, Santiago de Compostela, Spain

This initiative is designed to facilitate knowledge exchange and best practices between European institutions and universities in Central Asia, fostering expertise in integrating Circular Economy principles into education.

The primary objective of this training series is to support faculty members in developing and implementing innovative courses, modules, and teaching materials in the fields of Circular Economy and sustainable development. The program will offer in-depth knowledge and advanced pedagogical strategies to enhance the capacity of higher education institutions in embedding sustainability principles into their curricula.

Key topics covered in the training include:

  • Territorial and urban sustainability and competitiveness
  • Corporate environmental and climate management
  • Circular economy fundamentals and sustainable business models
  • Sustainability and competitiveness indices
  • Circular sustainable entrepreneurship

Through this initiative, participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of Circular Economy concepts, sustainability strategies, and their application in academic programs. The program will also encourage interdisciplinary approaches, ensuring that universities can effectively integrate these themes across multiple disciplines.
