An online workshop titled “Transforming Education for Environmental Entrepreneurship: Regional Sustainability Strategies” was held at D. Serikbayev East Kazakhstan Technical University (EKTU), focusing on new approaches to teaching environmental entrepreneurship.

The event brought together over 60 participants from Central Asian countries, including educators, entrepreneurs, and specialists from various fields. The workshop was part of the large-scale ERASMUS+ CBHE CirculEC project, aimed at developing innovative curricula and enhancing human capital in regional universities.

During the event, participants explored advanced educational courses in circular economy and shared experiences on integrating eco-technologies into entrepreneurial activities. Developing skills essential for environmental entrepreneurship, a cornerstone of sustainable development, was a key focus of the workshop.

The ERASMUS+ CBHE CirculEC project is coordinated by the University of Santiago de Compostela (Spain) and Alikhan Bokeikhan University (Kazakhstan), leaders of the Environmental Entrepreneurship work package. The project assists Central Asian universities in adapting to new challenges by providing students and faculty with skills in high demand on the global job market.

The workshop served as a platform to discuss best European practices and opportunities for ecological transition. Participants highlighted the uniqueness of the event, which not only enhanced professional competencies but also facilitated discussions on strategies to strengthen regional sustainability.

Organizers emphasized that such initiatives play a key role in preparing a new generation of specialists capable of addressing global environmental challenges. EKTU continues to actively implement innovations in the educational process, reaffirming its status as one of the leading universities in Central Asia.
