SMM specialists from the Media Center of D. Serikbayev EKTU, Damir Omarov and Zhuldiz Taumanova, took part in the national seminar-training «UniMediaX25», organized by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education (MSHE) of the Republic of Kazakhstan in collaboration with L. N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University. The event brought together press secretaries from leading universities and research institutes in the country to exchange experiences, master modern media methods, and enhance professional competencies.
Kazakhstan’s Minister of Science and Higher Education, Sayasat Nurbek, emphasized the importance of press services in the fields of science and education. According to him, effective communication plays a key role in conveying the essence of reforms to the public, increasing government policy transparency, and strengthening trust between citizens and authorities.
– The work of press secretaries contributes to enhancing the transparency of government policy and strengthening trust between society and the state, – noted Sayasat Nurbek.
Seminar participants were also provided with information about Kazakhstan’s current achievements in higher education and science, as well as MSHE’s plans and future prospects. The discussions included heads of relevant government agencies and experts in PR and communications, including Kainar Akhetov, Director of the Department of State Policy in Media at the Ministry of Culture and Information, and Yrysbek Mauit, founder of the «ZERDELI» network of intellectual centers.
The seminar focused on practical training. PR specialist Asel Serikpaeva conducted a master class on «A Successful Start in Media: Effective Use of Media Opportunities», while Damir Aspan, Director of «Asker Media», shared secrets on how to effectively interact with journalists in challenging conditions.
Participants also received training on creating high-quality media content, working with target audiences, and effectively disseminating news in higher education and science. MSHE representatives provided updates on the latest legislative changes affecting higher education.
The participation of EKTU employees in the «UniMediaX25» seminar is another step towards improving the university’s media operations. As one of the leading technical universities in Kazakhstan, EKTU places great emphasis on developing its information policy, promoting scientific achievements, and highlighting educational initiatives. Such seminars help to adopt best practices and improve communication levels among press services of Kazakhstani educational institutions.
As part of the seminar, participants also visited the campuses of leading universities in Astana, took part in interactive sessions, and received certificates of completion.
