Today, teachers of the Department of History of Kazakhstan and SPD Kansha Kalieva and Amantai Dzhaksylykov took part in the international scientific online conference "Man and Nature: the history of interaction (Environmental History)", organized by the Russian State University for the Humanities (Moscow).

More than 70 researchers from universities and research centers of Russia and CIS countries took part in the conference. The problems of the speeches of the conference participants are devoted to the interaction of Man and Nature in the historical dimension. The importance of the topics of the presented reports and messages is increasing in the context of a pandemic. The object of study of ecological history is, among others, the historical fate of peoples, societies and states in the dramatic periods of epidemics.

Associate Professor Kansha Kalieva made a presentation “The ecological culture of the Kazakh people as a special type of ecological consciousness and behavior”, in which she noted that the Kazakhs have developed a rich, unique set of traditions of dialogue between nature and man, nature and society. Particular attention in the report was paid to the formation of an ecological culture of the younger generation, where the experience of ancestors plays an important role, the practice of which shows respect for the environment.

Researcher Amantai Dzhaksylykov in his report spoke about the application of the natural-geographical method in the historical demography of Kazakhstan and updated the issues of the formation and functioning of eco and agrosystems, rhythmic climate fluctuations and its impact on the economy of nomadic societies, which makes it possible to identify the place and role of nomads in these systems, the number and dynamics of the population of the arid territories of Eurasia, their migration.

The concepts of "ecology" and "culture" are becoming key in the modern world and help to comprehend the course of history and the place of man in nature, to preserve the national roots of cultures, the mentality of countries and peoples that have arisen as a result of a huge variety of interaction between man and nature.
