From March 11 to 14, 2025, training seminars are taking place at the University of Naples Federico II (Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II, Italy) as part of the international Erasmus+ ERASMUS-EDU-2023-CBHE project "Developing Innovative Curricula and Modules in Circular Economy and Sustainable Development - CirculEC."
The educational session brings together representatives from 10 universities across Central Asia - Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan. D. Serikbayev East Kazakhstan Technical University (EKTU), serving as the grant holder and coordinator of the CirculEC project, continues to actively enhance academic collaboration, share expertise, and strengthen its role in advancing sustainable development through education. The seminars opened with welcoming remarks from leading professors of the University of Naples. Representing EKTU, CirculEC project coordinator Madina Yussubaliyeva addressed participants, highlighting the importance of joint efforts between Central Asian and European universities in shaping sustainability-oriented academic solutions.
The seminar program focuses on key topics such as integrating circular economy and sustainability principles into curricula, digital transformation of academic programs, and the development of international academic cooperation. Special attention is given to revising disciplines based on ESG principles, embedding sustainable approaches into educational content, and exchanging best practices in digitalization.
These seminars serve as a meaningful platform for sharing experience, developing joint strategies, and strengthening international partnerships in the field of sustainable education. EKTU continues to build academic capacity, expand its cooperation with European universities, and contribute to shaping an innovative educational agenda for Central Asia.
