On May 21, 2025, a working meeting was held at the D. Serikbayev East Kazakhstan Technical University as part of the implementation of the scientific project BR21882022 "Research of avalanche activity in the East Kazakhstan region for development of monitoring systems and scientific substantiation of their placement."

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Department of Emergency Situations of the East Kazakhstan Region of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the branch of the State Institution "Kazselezashchita" of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as scientists, engineers and specialists of the EKTU.

The side of the Emergency Department of East Kazakhstan Region was represented by:

  • Amangeldy Yensegenov – Deputy Head of the Emergency Department of East Kazakhstan Region, Colonel of Civil Protection,
  • Arman Nauryzbayev – Head of the Emergency Prevention Department,
  • Guldaray Maratkyzy – Engineer of the Emergency Management Department.
  • The acting head of the Telgat Nurakhmet branch was present from Kazselezashchita State Enterprise.

From the university side, the following participated: Natalia Denissova is a digital officer at EKTU, project manager, employees of the Support and Information Technology Department, engineers at the Smart Engineering Competence Center, professor at the School of Geosciences.

During the visit, a presentation of the key results of the project was presented, digital tools for monitoring avalanche-prone areas were demonstrated, as well as prototypes of geoinformation solutions developed on the basis of EKTU. Special attention was paid to the implementation of scientific developments in the practice of emergency management and the possibility of integrating data into the regional emergency prevention system.

The guests positively assessed the scientific and practical significance of the project, noting the high level of training of university specialists and modern technological solutions used in the research.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached on further cooperation in the field of data exchange, the participation of emergency response specialists in the field stages of research and joint testing of monitoring systems.

The BR21882022 project is being implemented with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan and is aimed at improving public safety in avalanche-prone areas of Eastern Kazakhstan.
