In February, D. Serikbayev East Kazakhstan Technical University (EKTU) launched the Rector's Cup Volleyball Tournament, bringing together 24 teams representing educational institutions from across the region.

The tournament was officially opened in the university’s assembly hall, with the event attended by 15 school principals, faculty members, athletes, and enthusiastic supporters. EKTU leadership emphasized the importance of promoting student sports and wished all participants success in the upcoming matches.

A total of 300 athletes are taking part in the tournament, divided into four groups of six teams each. The teams will compete for a spot in the final stage and the chance to claim the prestigious Rector's Cup.

The tournament promises to be a thrilling and intense competition. Volleyball has long held a prominent place in the sporting life of East Kazakhstan and at EKTU in particular. Events like this not only promote a healthy lifestyle among youth but also strengthen team spirit and enhance students' athletic skills.

The matches will span two days, culminating in decisive games where the finalists will compete for the Rector’s Cup.
