In November 2023, D. Serikbayev EKTU provided a place for the installation of a fandomat. A fandomat is a device for receiving containers (plastic bottles and aluminum cans) for recycling.

The fandomat was installed in support of the Clean City urban program, which is being implemented within the framework of the Green Kazakhstan national project. The equipment was installed at the expense of investors of the Ecoplatform Kazakhstan LLP program, and the operation is provided by the university.

The fandomat is installed inside the entrance group of the main building of the EKTU at 19 Serikbayev St. Thus, the equipment is located indoors, but is available not only to university staff and students, but also to the city's population, for anyone who wants to take part in sorting and separate garbage collection and support the development of "green" ideas in our city.

When handing over bottles to the fandomat through a special Sparklo application, bonuses are awarded, which can then be used in the investor's network of partners, which include various retail chain facilities.

To deliver the containers to the fandomat, it is necessary to place a bottle and an aluminum jar in the receiving window, wait until the fandomat scans the barcode on the container and accepts it. Then follow the instructions on the fandomat screen: choose to take more or get bonuses. After switching to receiving bonuses, enter your mobile phone number. Bonuses will be credited by phone number in the Sparklo app, even if it is not installed on the phone yet. Next, you will receive an SMS notification about the accrual of bonuses with a link to the application. You can also download it by scanning the barcode on the front of the fandomat.

The activists of the eco-club "Clover", students of group 23-BZHT-1 Izmailova Karina and Kimosova Elizaveta tested the work of the fandomat. The eco-club promotes an eco-friendly lifestyle and even the packaging for the fandomat was brought by the club members not in packages, but in a shopper. The very process of passing is interesting, attractive for students and the fact that even such a small contribution to the environment is encouraged by the bonus program.
