Starting on March 26, D. Serikbayev East Kazakhstan Technical University hosted an environmental contest focused on collecting plastic bottles. The event brought together environmentally conscious students, university staff, and local residents, all united by a common goal — to make a positive impact on the environment.
The contest was held as part of the national initiative “Taza Kazakhstan” (Clean Kazakhstan) for the development of ecological culture (2024–2029), and in support of the national environmental campaign “3.2.1. Start!”. The aim of the event was not only to reduce plastic waste but also to foster a sense of environmental responsibility among the public.
Due to the high level of interest and participant enthusiasm, the contest was extended until May 31. During this time, many individuals stepped up as true eco-heroes. We are now proud to announce the names of the six most active participants, who will be awarded certificates and memorable prizes for their contributions.
We are proud that EKTU is becoming a platform for meaningful and impactful initiatives, and we hope that events like this will become a cherished tradition. Together, we are making our city cleaner!
