On May 16, 2025, Olga Petrova, head of the Green Campus project, represented EKTU at the First Forum with International participation "Service Learning in the Education System: Theory in Practice". The forum was held offline and online based on the Rubtsovsk Institute (branch) Altai State University.
"Service Learning" is one of the most effective global practices of academic and professional training of students, as well as the formation of traditional values and citizenship. The Forum has become a platform for the exchange of knowledge and experience, discussion of current issues and trends in the implementation of "Service Learning" in the education system.
Projects on working with young people, whose participation in public life is one of the conditions for the harmonious development of society, took special importance in the issues of the Forum.
A report "Student initiatives within the framework of university green projects" was presented at the Forum by the EKTU, in which successful cases of youth volunteer green projects were discussed. For example, the active participation of EKTU eco-clubs in the separate collection of plastic and the support of the republican project 3.2.1.Start!
It was noted that such projects contribute not only to the fact that students are actively involved in volunteer movements but benefit society. But they also develop students' professional skills to solve real social problems and lead to the birth of new community leaders from the student community.
