Dear partners, faculty, staff, students!

We are pleased to share with you great news!

EKTU named after D. Serikbaev for the first time entered the most quoted academic ranking of the British Agency QS Quacquarelli Symonds Limited - QS World University Rankings 2024. And not just entered, but promptly burst into the top 901-950 of the world's best universities.https://www.topuniversities.com/university-rankings/world-university-rankings/2024?&region=Asia&countries=kz

QS World University Rankings are recognised around the world as an excellent tool for assessing the quality of education.

Rating results are based on such indicators as research activity, teaching, career potential, number of foreign students and teachers, QS Global Employer Survey and QS Global Academic Survey, in which more than 70 000 respondents take part every year. It is worth noting the increasing competition in the rankings, as the number of participants and global averages increase every year.

Our systematic work over the past few years in such strategic areas as "academic excellence", "scientific and technological breakthrough" and commitment to the principles of sustainable development has borne fruit: it has significantly increased the academic reputation of the University, the reputation among employers and the employability of graduates. Global visibility has helped to attract international staff and students, and has strengthened our collaborations within international research groups.

The steady inclusion of our university in the global rankings is also the result of the government's funding of scientific research. Thus, today 20% of the university budget is the science budget; an open science model has been formed, and the university actively engages partner enterprises in RnD projects. The transfer of the centre of gravity to regional HEIs helps to further develop innovation: a Centre of Academic Excellence in the Mining and Metallurgy Sector is being established on the basis of EKTU.

The course of Ministry of Science and Education to form a Kazakhstan educational hub has given impetus to international projects such as the establishment of the Lu Ban Workshop with the Tianjin Professional Institute (PRC); the opening of the Kazakhstan-German Institute of Science and Technology with German colleagues represented by KNU and a number of partners.

We warmly congratulate and thank each member of our friendly team and our loyal partners with this victory! It was our teamwork, aspiration for constant development and improvement, maximum involvement of the whole team that brought us such great results!!!

It should be noted that high places in the global rankings are not an end in themselves for us. It is, first of all, an opportunity to obtain an independent external evaluation by the world's best experts of the efficiency of the tremendous work which the University carries out within its Strategic Development Program, makes the University visible in the world academic community and provides an opportunity to adjust the further course of development.

My congratulations and gratitude to all our partners, undoubtedly, together we will continue to implement large-scale projects and make weighty contribution to the economy of Kazakhstan!
