Project Abstract:

Research into the state of domestic enterprises producing pipeline fittings has revealed that among various types of pipeline fittings, the design of gate valves is the most complex and labor-intensive to manufacture. It has been established that the production of pipeline fittings with advanced technological parameters is a pressing issue. This involves the use of wear-resistant structural materials for the sliding sealing surfaces of gate valves, ensuring high performance, reliable operation, and the required service life.

Over 50% of shut-off valve failures are caused by the destruction of sealing surfaces due to intense corrosion-erosion wear. Moreover, the cost of repairing a gate valve accounts for 30-50% of the total repair expenses. Even more critical is the adhesion of sealing surfaces, leading to valve failure at critical moments. This project aims to address these issues.

Project Goal: To enhance the wear resistance of sealing surfaces of mating parts through surfacing followed by mechanical and thermal treatment.
