The department of Kazakh and Russian languages was established on the basis of the departments of Kazakh language, Russian language according to rector’s order No. 13 P of 18.01.2006.
Mission of the department:
To provide quality educational services in the sphere of Kazakh and Russian language learning for successful socialization of the future specialists, capable of complex combining the acquired knowledge and skills in their future professional activity and in modern sphere of business communication.
The strategy of the department:
- increasing the quality of training of the specialists of the technical university in the sphere of state language and the language of intercultural communication by inculcating new innovative pedagogical technologies of teaching;
- increasing scientific-pedagogical potential of the department;
- constant increasing up-brining role of the courses, conducted by the department and work on fulfillment of general university plan of measures on the realization of state program of languages development in the sphere of new requirements;
- forming the system of strategic partnership with other subdivisions of the university, state enterprises, schools;
- improvement of corporate culture of the staff of the department;
- modernizing and extension of material-technical base of the department.
Human Resources:
The department has a staff capacity sufficient to carry out its mission and implement the above strategic objectives.
Historical Background
With the adoption of a law on languages (1989) in the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kazakh language has acquired the status of state language in all institutions of higher education introduced discipline Kazakh language. And in our high school in September 1990 opened the department of "the Kazakh and Russian languages" - the first head was appointed Nazbiev Zhaksykeldy Dyusyuphanovich. Since 1993, became a separate department "of the Kazakh language."
In subsequent years, the department of the Kazakh language was headed by the senior teacher KM Maselova; Candidate of Philology, Senior Lecturer G.A. Kusmanova; Candidate of Philology O.S. Sapashev; Candidate of Philology, Associate Professor A.K. Konarbaev; candidate of philological sciences, associate professor S.K. Erezhepova. Experienced teachers contributed a lot to the development of the department: Kuanysh Sh.T., Okasova B.K., Esimzhanova G.T., Baybatanova F.I., and their young colleagues: Zhaksylykova B.S., Bakieva A.K. , Abilmazhinova A.B.
In 2006, after joining the section of teachers of the Russian language, the department was renamed into "Kazakh, Russian language and office work".
Since 2007, the department has been headed by candidate of pedagogical sciences, associate professor A.K. Zhanabilova.
The department was awarded a diploma and a badge from the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences for participation in the competition "Golden Department of Russia".
In 2015, the department was renamed "Kazakh and Russian languages". Now the department is headed by Asavbaeva G.B.The department introduces level language teaching, uses modern information technologies in the educational process, implements online learning in synchronous and asynchronous format. Online courses developed at the department are posted on the National Open Education Platform.
Language training is carried out in different directions: annual events for employees who study the Kazakh language, training teachers for the Kaztest exam, teaching Russian to foreign students.
The teachers of the department are high-class specialists. They constantly improve their skills in foreign educational organizations. So five employees of the department received state diplomas from the South Ural State University, one employee underwent a year of training at the University of Delaware (USA).
The department has a large number of textbooks of a new type, reflecting modern trends in education. Scientific activity is carried out in such areas as the theory of language, communicative linguistics, sociolinguistics, methods of teaching the Kazakh and Russian languages. Teachers of the department participate in international scientific conferences and publish the results of their research in journals and collections. The department organizes and conducts conferences, seminars, master classes at the republican and international levels.
Educational and educational work is actively carried out within the framework of clubs aimed at supporting and developing gifted youth, creative communication, popularization of cultural heritage.
