On October 28, a scientific and methodological seminar "New approaches to the study of family institutions in Kazakhstan" was held. The workshop was devoted to the use of various sociological methods and tools to analyze the transformational processes of the family in urbanization. Issues were considered both at the level of changes in Kazakhstan as a whole (with an emphasis on regional differences), and at the level of a specific city of Semey.
Reports were made by Stolyarova Eleonora Olegovna, Candidate of Sociological Sciences, Chief Researcher of the International Research Center «DIGITAL SOCIAL RESEARCH» of the East Kazakhstan Technical University named after D. Serikbaev (Ust-Kamenogorsk, Republic of Kazakhstan) – «Birth rate in a Kazakh family: Opportunities and Intentions», Makhmetova Nadira Amanzholkyzy, PhD, Shakarim University of Semey (Semey, Republic of Kazakhstan) – «Transformation of the Kazakh family in the conditions of urbanization: social and cultural transformations (on the example of the city of Semey)», Imanіl Aіnіr Beksіltanқyzy, PhD, Head of the Family Policy Department of the Kazakhstan Institute of Social Development (Astana, Republic of Kazakhstan) – «Combination of traditional approaches and new life strategies of the Kazakh family in the context of demographic changes».
Holding the event in the format of an online webinar allowed colleagues from Astana and Semey to take part in it. As a result of the reports made, an active discussion unfolded. The relevance of the issues raised is not in doubt and involves further exchange of views and scientific consultations.
The seminar was organized within the framework of the project of grant financing of scientific research of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the topic AR26198919 «Kazakhstan family in the system of public relations: potential and problems of inter-institutional interaction in the context of modernization».
