On December 6, 2023 "Central Asian countries in the system of regional and international relations in the XIX-XXI centuries" the international round table was held and organized by Altai State Pedagogical University (Barnaul, Russia).

Among the main topics for discussion were: Culture and religion of the countries and regions of Central Asia; Ethno-confessional, socio-demographic and regional problems of Central Asia (past and present); History, historiography and modern development of the countries of Central Asia, as well as Cultural interaction of the peoples of Central Asia and adjacent territories in the past and present.

During the round table four representatives of EKTU named after D. Serikbayev delivered reports:

Nelly Krasnobaeva, Candidate of Historical Sciences, chief research officer of the ISRC "DSR" on Socio-economic development of Kazakhstan in the 50s of the twentieth century;

Tamerlan Omyrzak, MA, Lecturer of EKTU named after D.Serikbayev on Urban population of Kazakhstan in 1926-1989: the number and ethnic composition;

Zhanna Aubakirova, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor, Head of ISRC "DSR" on Demographic case of "Almaty": peculiarities of fertility in Kazakhstan and reproductive scenarios.

Eleonora Stolyarova, Candidate of Social Sciences, Chief Scientific Associate of ISRC "DSR" on Religious factor in the families of female students of Kazakhstani universities (based on the results of sociological research).

The reports of our colleagues aroused great interest and a number of questions that were discussed by the participants of the round table.

Materials of speeches were handed over to the organizers of the Round Table for publication in the form of scientific articles in the collection of materials, which would be included in the Russian Science Citation Index.
