As part of the adaptation week, a presentation of the environmental clubs was held for first-year students at D. Serikbayev East Kazakhstan Technical University on September 4, 2026. Olga Petrova, Head of the Green Campus Project, and Dana Sovetbekova, Specialist at the Office for Sustainable Development, introduced the freshmen to the activities of student environmental organizations, ongoing environmental initiatives, volunteer projects, and opportunities to become actively involved in university life. EKTU brings together engaged young people who care about environmental protection, sustainable development, and fostering an environmental culture.

Particular attention was paid to the national environmental campaign «Taza Kazakhstan», which brings people across the country together around the common goal of maintaining cleanliness and promoting a responsible attitude towards nature. EKTU students actively participate in environmental campaigns, clean-up activities, landscaping and greening initiatives, as well as implement their own projects aimed at reducing waste and promoting environmental thinking. The presentation of the environmental clubs gave first-year students an opportunity to meet like-minded people and choose an area in which they can contribute and express themselves.

Young people play an important role in shaping the future of our planet. Through personal example, initiative, new ideas, and a responsible attitude towards the environment, students can make a meaningful contribution to nature conservation. Every step, participating in a clean-up campaign, planting a tree, sorting waste, or simply treating the environment with care, can become part of a greater shared effort. Let us work together to keep our nature clean, beautiful, and alive, for ourselves, future generations, and our entire planet!
