A regular competition for grant funding for scientific and (or) scientific-technical projects was held for 2023-2025. According to its results, the ISRC DSR has received the opportunity to implement a new project titled as: "Kazakhs as the demographic potential of Kazakhstan: retrospective and development prospects".
Participants and supervisors of the project are addressing specific tasks: in particular, to determine the causes and conditions of demographic explosions of Kazakhs in 1950-1960; to assess how these dividends were used later; and to compare with the causes and conditions of high birth rates in the early 21st century.
According to the Center's staff, the main goal of the project is to turn demographic potential into actual human capital, as well as to develop socio-demographic, socio-economic and socio-cultural sectors of Kazakhstan.
"Interdisciplinary approaches and research methods, namely retrospective, anamnestic approaches and analysis of the content of periodicals contribute to meet our goals. In this regard, digital tools play a significant role. We are planning to create an online resource," said Zhanna Aubakirova, Director of the DIGITAL SOCIAL RESEARCH Center.
Accurate and valid statistical data, its analysis, a database of publications in journals on the topic, as well as interviews of eyewitnesses and participants of the events of the second half of the twentieth century will be placed on the online platform with open access.
