The winners of the East Kazakhstan Region Mayor Yerzhan Kosherbayev's award "For Contribution to the Implementation of State Youth Policy" have been announced. Among the awardees are active students of D. Serikbayev East Kazakhstan Technical University (EKTU), who contribute not only to the development of the youth movement but also to the realization of important social initiatives.
In the "Initiative of the Year" category, the winner was Izmailov Leonid, a student at the International School of Engineering, specializing in Technical Physics. Leonid is not just an active student but also a dedicated researcher working on his own inventions. This year, he founded Jastar Energy, a unique youth movement and the first community in Kazakhstan to unite physics students in promoting knowledge about the "peaceful atom" and combating misinformation about nuclear energy. This initiative aims to raise awareness of the peaceful use of nuclear energy and sustainable development, combining both educational and socially beneficial efforts.
Additionally, a Letter of Appreciation from the Mayor was awarded to Toleubekova Lyailya, a student at the School of Geosciences, specializing in Land Cadastre and Land Management. Lyailya is a shining example of an active EKTU student-she serves as the Chairperson of the Republican Student Movement "Alliance of Students of Kazakhstan" in the East Kazakhstan region, the head of the ESBOL QORY republican project headquarters for the region, and the leader of the El Umity volunteer organization at EKTU. In 2023, Lyailya was recognized among "EKTU's Top 100 Students," reaffirming her significant contribution to the university and the region.
These achievements highlight not only the proactive stance of EKTU students but also their high level of training, commitment to innovation, and dedication to addressing socially significant challenges. The university takes pride in its students and their accomplishments, supporting initiatives aimed at advancing youth policy and society as a whole.
Congratulations to Izmailov Leonid and Toleubekova Lyailya on their well-deserved awards! We wish them continued success in their endeavors for the benefit of the university, the region, and the country!
